14. Polite software is trustworthy

Software that is trustworthy produces the correct results and stores them appropriately. It can also prove that it’s correct. It also allows access to correct users only.

Software that is trustworthy is crucial to the users’ ability to rely on it. Being incorrect or incosistent makes the software essentially unsuable.

Trustworthiness is earned over time with users but is accomplished through thorough testing.

Software that is trustworthy has not problems being self-confident.
