Idea to fix Twitter and Facebook

#product

The misinformation and propaganda part.

First, Twitter should implement real name verification. Not arcane checkmarks but a standardized process where a user can verify their identity. Facebook has this to a degree. On Twitter, display names would be locked to some combination of the real name: J. Doe, John D., John D. Doe, etc. and wouldn’t be changable. The Battle net has name#number identifier, perhaps something like that could be used as the handles.

Organizations would have to go through the same process, so they can’t randomly change their branding to pose as a different service..

Second, separate out all the non-verified content into a separate section. You’d have to specifically switch to that section. It wouldn’t be a toggle to include unverified content by default but would be a specifically separate site &emdash; the way Reddit’s quarantine works.

I say like Reddit’s quarantine but actually the closer approximation would be Hearthsone’s wild mode.
